In recent years, the number of products containing complex shapes that are produced by tooling known as dies and moulds have grown noticeably. The quality, costs and lead-time of these products are strongly influenced by the manufacturing process of these toolings. The more complex the product shape, the more intensive has the work to be expanded. The development of CAD/CAM systems and High Speed Cutting Technology (HSC) have greatly helped to improve the manufacturing of such kinds of dies and mould. However, technological limitations in the CAD/CAM/CNC to produce free form geometries have shown some significant drawbacks. Focusing on this issue, this book presents an overview of HSC technology, cutting forces, tool deflection, CAD/CAM/CNC chain, and the methodologies used by these systems to generate and accomplish complex tool-paths using Spline polynomials. This book should be especially useful to professionals involved in the field of Manufacturing Process, scholar proposal, or anyone else who may be interested to understand this new and exciting field of the engineering.
