"Contributor Biography - English Dr. Rafed El-Sayed (born 1973 in Koln) studied Egyptology and Oriental Studies at the Universitat zu Koln (1999 Master of Arts, 2006 PhD in Egyptology). His research interests cover Ancient Egyptian Language and Archaeology with a focus on Greek-Roman and Late Antique Egypt, History of science, History of religions, and Cultural contacts. From 2000 until 2004 he was Research Associate in the Collaborative research Centre SFB 389 ACACIA at the Universitat zu Koln. From 2005 until 2011 he held the position of Research Associate and Field Director in the archaeological Project 'Athribis in Upper Egypt' at Universitat Tubingen. In 2012 he was awarded a Dilthey-Fellowship (Volkswagenstiftung) and currently he is directing an archaeological project (project Min-Panos) concerning the 'Change of sacred landscape in the Akhmim region (Upper Egypt) in Late Antiquity' at Georg-August-Universitat Gottingen. Forschungsinteressen: Agyptisch-Koptische Sprache - Archaologie Agyptens mit einem chronologischen Schwerpunkt auf der griechisch-romischen Zeit und der Spatantike - Religionsgeschichte - Wissenschaftsgeschichte - Kulturkontaktforschung. Wissenschaftliche Tatigkeiten von 2000 bis 2004 als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter im Sonderforschungsbereich SFB 389 ACACIA an der Universitat Koln - von 2005 bis 2011 als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter und Grabungsleiter des Projektes ""Athribis in Oberagypten"" (DFG) an der Universitat Tubingen - seit 2012 Dilthey-Fellow (Volkswagenstiftung) und Leitung des Projektes 'Min-Panos, Kultlandschaft und materielle Kultur des Raumes von Achmim in Oberagypten' an der Georg-August-Universitat Gottingen.
