Sinossi

Heinz Mack (*1931), artist and co-founder of the internationally influential group of artists known as ZERO, is primarily noted for his reliefs and installations created with the medium of light. He describes his works on paper as the “grammar” of his art: “I think that lines condense into an energy field, a structure in which all of the parts, all of the elements, relate to each other in an indissoluble context, and begin to oscillate or even vibrate when we observe them with sensitivity, calm, and disinterested interest.”

This volume features a focused selection of mainly unpublished drawings in pencil, ink, charcoal, ink wash, and pastels. In their unique blending of structure and poetry, they shed light on an almost unknown facet of Mack’s world.
