Celia Rees wuchs in England auf. Nach dem Studium der Geschichte und Politik an der Warwick University war sie 17 Jahre lang Englischlehrerin. Ihr erstes Buch, den Jugend-Thriller Every Step you take, veröffentlichte sie 1993. Auf Deutsch erschienen u. a. ihre sehr erfolgreichen Jugendromane Der Herr der Stürme, Hexenkind, Hexenschwestern und zuletzt Piraten!. Celia Rees lebt mit ihrer Familie in Leamington Spa, England.
