Kaum ein anderer zeitgenossischer Lyriker stellte seine Gedichte so sehr in den Dienst engagierter Zeitkritik wie Peter Ruhmkorf. In seinen Gedichten verarbeitete er den okonomischen Tauschwert der Lyrik und die schwindende Bedeutung vergangener Literatur.
