The fields of art and architecture are currently witnessing an expansion of the exhibitionary complex: permanent and temporary exhibition spaces proliferate, blending with sites of consumption. Responding to this development, GAM.14 focusses on the act of exhibiting, which reconfigures the spatial limitations of the exhibition, thus creating dynamic sites of contestation and political confrontation. GAM.14 is a collection of current positions from the disciplines of art and architecture assembled around the conceptual effort to distinguish the act of exhibiting from exhibition, opening the potential of exhibiting as an exploratory space to address urgent social and political challenges of our time.

In den Bereichen Kunst und Architektur lässt sich gegenwärtig eine Erweiterung des Ausstellungskomplexes beobachten: permanente und temporäre Ausstellungsräume werden immer mehr und vermischen sich mit Orten des Konsums. Als Reaktion auf diese Entwicklung widmet sich GAM.14 dem Akt des Ausstellens, der die räumlichen Beschränkungen der Ausstellung rekonfiguriert und damit dynamische Orte der Auseinandersetzung und politischen Konfrontation ermöglicht. GAM.14 versammelt aktuelle Positionen aus den Disziplinen Kunst und Architektur in dem Bestreben, den Akt des Ausstellens von der Ausstellung zu unterscheiden und das Potenzial des Ausstellens als Forschungsraum für die Bewältigung dringlicher gesellschaftlicher und politischer Herausforderungen unserer Zeit zu öffnen.
