Valentin Ruhry (*1982 in Graz, lebt in Wien) studierte Multimedia und Plastik an der Universität fu r angewandte Kunst in Wien. Der Ku nstler arbeitet an gemeinhin mit der Skulptur verbundenen Fragestellungen, u berträgt diese aber auch auf benachbarte bildende Disziplinen wie z. B. die Malerei. Anlässlich seiner Einzelausstellung »réclamer« im Grazer Ku nstlerhaus, Halle fu r Kunst & Medien (KM ) erscheint nun die erste monografische Publikation »V«. Mit seinen im Grazer Ausstellungsraum verteilt angebrachten Leuchtkästenrahmen thematisiert Ruhry die Reklame- bzw. Werbefunktion, mit der Leuchtkästen u blicherweise konnotiert sind, zeigt sie aber eben bar dieser Funktion. Dadurch thematisieren die Objekte verstärkt den sie unmittelbar umgebenden Raum, ermög-lichen wechselwirkende Licht- und Schattenverläufe die an Kompostionen der Farbfeldmalerei erinnern. Die Publikation vereint diese aktuellen Arbeiten sowie Werke aus den letzten zehn Jahren.
