The book covers several aspects of entrepreneurship broadly divided into four section which have been further sub-divided into 17 chapters. In the first section, the book introduces the term entrepreneur and the entrepreneurial process from both a historical and a research perspective. The role and nature of entrepreneurship as a mechanism for creating new ventures and affecting economic development are presented, along with various factors impacting emergence of entrepreneurship. Lastly, the various aspects of creativity and innovation and all the elements in the entrepreneurial process that are a part of creating the new venture are elaborated. The second part focuses the market research needed to start a new venture and the various types of SSI and MSMEs in India. The various sources of ideas as well as trends occurring through this decade are discussed. Specific attention is also paid to various creative problem-solving technologies identifying opportunities, and creating an opportunity analysis plan. In the last part the focus is on rural entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, women entrepreneurship and international entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial strategies .
