The plays of both Beckett and Ahmad show the strength of the human spirit and ask the audience to reflect on their own lives. These playwrights help us grasping the reality of absurdity and make us realize that we can either accept the absurdity of life or fight against it for as long as possible. The absurd plays of Ahmad and Beckett always have a strong association with hope and waiting - and during the act of waiting, enduring is an essential part of the hope. They are disseminator of hope and their plays help us to comprehend that even though there is ‘nothing’, it is to be done. Mankind must continue, holding on –life itself must continue disregarding the absurd conditions of life. In this thesis, the researcher establishes their dramatic works foremost as a kind of art, which have an effect mostly on the perception of emotion rather than the reason. Their merit is connected because they write plays that have been considered absurd plays both playwrights are concerned about the absurdity of their time – which is still relevant since mankind is undergoing a time of turmoil and anarchy.
