The present investigation was aimed to assess the antidiabetic effects of silver nanoparticles of Vitex negundo leaf extract. In this experiment, the Vitex negundo leaf extract, Vitex negundo AgNp and combination of Vitex negundo leaf extract with Glibenclamide were comparatively assessed for their antidiabetic effect as well as its effects on different biochemical and antioxidant parameters. Plant material and plant powder for this study was collected from botanical garden of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology. The methanolic extract was prepared with the help of Soxhlet apparatus using the Vitex negundo leaf powder and then stored in a container for further use. The phytochemical analysis of the methanolic leaf extract of Vitex negundo were also carried out. Vitex negundo leaf extract was utilized as a reducing agent for the fabrication of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using a green synthesis method. The synthesis involved mixing of Vitex negundo leaf extract with silver nitrate solution and heating the mixture to obtain AgNp precipitates which were subsequently characterized.
