Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - The global imperative for sustainable energy and effective organic waste management has intensified interest in anaerobic digestion (AD) technologies. This study investigates the anaerobic co-digestion of cow dung (CD) and fruit waste (FW) comprising banana peels, mango rinds, pineapple pomace, and watermelon rind for optimized biogas production under mesophilic conditions (35°C). Batch digesters with a working volume of 5 litres were operated over a 40-day hydraulic retention time (HRT) at five substrate mixing ratios (CD: FW = 100:0, 75:25, 50:50, 25:75, and 0:100) at a total solid (TS) loading of 8%. Cumulative biogas yield, methane content, volatile solids (VS) reduction, and key physicochemical parameters (pH, total volatile fatty acids [TVFA], alkalinity) were monitored throughout the experiment. The co-digestion ratio of 75% CD and 25% FW produced the highest cumulative biogas yield of 4,218 mL with a methane content of 68.4%, representing a 37.2% improvement over CD mono-digestion.
