Sinossi
There are 60 unites in this course, which introduces different reading methods like skimming and scanning and different reading skills like gessing the meaning of the words and understanding the sentences and paragraphs. Special attention is paid to the introduction of the skills to understand exposintion, argumentation and other types of writing. Evering unit includes skill training and reading comprehension. The course focuses on improving students' reading ablility. The contents of every unit are communicative and practical, with a great variety in subjects and types. Reference to the Syllabus of Chinese Words and Characters and Chinese Standard Test has been made in arragning the texts. As a result of taking the course, the foreign students with intermediate Chinese are expected to master the reading skills and improve their reading ability.
