Regarded as a classic ""influencing the course of American history"", Uncle Toms Cabin (Illustrated) (English Version with Chinese Introduction) was one of the greatest literature masterpieces in 19th Century. In order to pay for his debts, slave owner Shelby decided to sell two slaves: one was Tom, who was extremely loyal and concerned about his owners interests with heart and soul; the other was Harry, whose mother, also a slave, was not reluctant to absolutely obey her owner. After overhearing the news that the owner was going to sell Tom and Harry, Harrys mother took her son to escape day and night and for meeting her husband, and after enormous hardships and dangers, they finally fled to Canada successfully with assistance of the abolitionists. The fate of the leading character Tom, by contrast, was totally different. Tom was used to and willing to listen to obey his owner, as a result, although he knew and even helped the Harrys to escape, he himself did not go with them. Instead, he was sold once and again, and finally was tortured to death by slave owners. This book describes different kinds of black slaves with different expressions and characteristics, as well as different types of slave owners.
