Their answer is to turn away from elaborate, imported bar styles and toward ingredients and techniques rooted in Nordic soil and culinary heritage. They draw on traditional methods to suggest new directions for the spirit. Interviews form a large part of the book, and bartenders in London and New York who are also working with akvavit add their views. The text covers the spirit's place in seasonal customs, such as Christmas lunches in Denmark and Norway and Midsummer and crayfish parties in Sweden. Many cocktail recipes are included, among them a Green Old Fashioned. Codice articolo AOA-240115-shelf-18-e

Hand inspected item, complete, with minimal wear, guaranteed to pay or your money back. --- Rasmus Poulsgaard and Sune Risum-Urth, both bartenders, examine akvavit, the caraway- and dill-flavored Scandinavian spirit, and ask where Nordic cocktail culture should go next. They place the drink in its European historical setting and draw on interviews with distillers and bartenders. Their argument is that Nordic bars should stop chasing elaborate international styles and work instead with ingredients and techniques from their own soil and culinary heritage. To that end they try out old Scandinavian kitchen methods as a starting point for new drinks. Bartenders in London and New York who are working with aquavit add an outside view, and the book includes a good number of cocktail recipes. Codice articolo OA-231011-shelf22-n
