This book is an introduction to the object model of the Perspective-DB ODBMS, designed to support the life-cycle of comprehensive Information Systems. The graphical representation philosophy of Perspective-DB has a major impact on the model. Besides being a tool for analysts, designers and developers, the representation is also the GUI, enabling the end-user to navigate and manipulate a complex system without becoming disoriented, while providing a representation which is both inherent to the application at hand, and based on the type of action to be performed. Besides their traditional role, the model's DDL and DML also encompass the GUI and natural language.
