It is the fifth era, the Rompótoic Age. Humanity is safe—thanks to the Ministry of Common Sense, a powerful force of artificial super-intelligent machines. But after a year of no news of any consequence, the Ministry has gone on strike, and the universe is quickly descending into chaos. Wars are reigniting, stupidity is running rampant, and no one knows how to stop it—except for one person: Tom Two-Dan $mith (sic).
Tom’s got a problem though. He’s an ale-based life form, and leaving his home at the Time Stop Brewery means risking his very existence. But when Zelda, the creator of the Ministry, is stolen and lobotomized, it’s up to Tom to track down the missing pieces of her mind and restore reason to the universe.
The stakes are high—there’s the psychopathic Skagans who thrive on chaos, Rannie Dearheat who’s profiting from the Ministry’s core memory, and Gillian Bates, an empire ruler with her own plans. Not to mention the car parking junta, who want to make sure there’s a fee for every square inch of every planet.
The fate of the galaxy rests on Tom’s shoulders, but he doesn’t even know what he’s getting into.
