The fairy tale “The Howling Wind and Pickley the Mouse” is the author's attempt to look into the world of Nature, which surrounds us, enchanting with its kindness and at the same time horrifying with its evil. But we, adults, and a hundredth of a fraction do not see it all. Though little children, especially infants, live in this fairy-tale world, which is more than real for them, until we drag them into our world of Evil, which is predominantly, with few exceptions.
Sometimes, we want so much to turn into a mouse Pickly, to walk among lushly blooming grasses, absorbing all the beauty of the world around us, to know the Evil of Nature's phenomena (Windstorm, Thunderstorm, Downpour, etc.), but to subdue and conquer them with our kindness....
Maybe, in the same way, we can turn our whole world into absolute Good by destroying all the Evil in it... However, “I would like to go to Paradise, but sins do not let me in!”. And only the mouth of a baby, “speaking the Truth”, will help us in this.
