This is the sixth (of eight) volume of the most comprehensive chronological Bible study commentary and workbook on the Life of Christ available. This series is unique in that it is both a study book (for personal use or group studies) with discussion questions and homework answers for every lesson AND an exegetical in-depth commentary. It is easy to read and comprehend yet packed with fascinating details and theological truths for the most advanced Scripture scholars.
This begins with a chapter on at the Passion Week chronology (Palm Sunday to Resurrection Sunday) that primarily focuses on which day He was crucified (was it really the traditional Friday?).
As we continue (from volume 5) discussing the busiest recorded day in the Lord’s ministry (Tuesday of the Passion Week), we spend two lessons on His powerful “Woe Sermon” (against the hypocrisy of Israel’s religious rulers). We also dedicate ten lessons to His prophetic “Olivet Discourse” (aka “a jet-tour of the end-times’ scenario of Revelation). “Busy Tuesday” was special in that it included Jesus’ praise of two exemplary women of faith: the widow who gave all she had (two mites) and Mary of Bethany who gave Him the best she had (her spikenard perfume).
Much of this volume is about the Lord’s final Passover with His men. We learn about the origin of the Passover Feast and how it is annually celebrated by Jewish people to this day (and how their Seder celebration points to the true Messiah, Jesus Christ)! We also discuss the transition of the Old Testament Passover to the New Testament “Lord’s Supper”. On His last pre-crucifixion night with His men, He taught them lots of truth - some by example (i.e., washing their feet, some by prophesy (i.e., His betrayal by one of them, the denial of another, and the scattering of them all). The final four lessons look a “The Comfort Chapter” of Scripture (John 14), which begins Christ’s last sermon to the Apostles, “The Farewell Discourse”.
Look over the “Table of Contents” for this book! You will see it can easily be a study separate from the other volumes that both precede and follow it.
