The Loop is set in 24th Century Britain, at a time when the heights of technology and industry have slumped and given rise to overpopulation, climate disaster, economic depression and unemployment. The story follows the life of Lue, who is eaten up by the loneliness he began to feel when he was separated from his mother as a teenager by the authoritarian government.
The air is polluted, conditions are cramped, and when Lue is made redundant from his job, he feels like it’s more than he can bear. Lue looks for an escape.
He discovers MindLock - a hallucinogenic drug that offers a Gateway to another world: a lush, green paradise, pain free and full of promise. It is here that he meets Lydia. But as Lue unlocks the power of MindLock, nothing can prepare them for what is to come…
