DO THE CRIME is a provocative collection of crime fiction that leans toward the hard-boiled side. Along the way, we are treated to insights into human behavior as well as morsels of humor. Such a Cruel Month (novella) – A retired man carries a heavy heart and a longstanding grudge against an old boss he'd like to end with violence. However, revenge isn’t as simple as he’d imagined. He’s even taken in for questioning. After legal matters are clarified, he surprises and astonishes the police, not once but twice.
Slidell’s Secrets - A palm reader helps him recover his memory. Then they're both in trouble.
Joey’s Mistake - Max likes cars so much he steals them. His old friend Joey goes along with the plan for a while, then makes his own life. Little by little, Max shares his dark history, and Joey’s big mistake.
It All Comes Back – When a friendship is torn beyond repair, payback with a bullet starts to look appealing.
Morning Train – An angry commuter makes terrifying plans for his job.
Iron Bars – A disillusioned prisoner issues a stark invitation.
Always Such a Quiet Street – Ryan, a college student, enjoys relaxing walks along quiet streets—until he’s forced to stop a gunman and save a woman’s life. Then Ryan finds himself in a tense situation as he learns that he’s being framed for murder.
A Fine Death - A lot of things bothered Keegan. So he got rid of them—one by one.
