This book, written by an experienced Human Resources and Manufacturing leader, is designed with the intent to equipping a small manufacturing entrepreneur and less experienced HR person with the basics of culture design, dispute resolution, and union avoidance. My experience indicated often smaller organizations don't have the resources to employ consultants and attorneys to design their businesses. They are often left to their devices to manage the operation. That is the purpose of this treatise, to provide they reader of this book many does and don'ts and how the organization will be enhanced or destroyed based on those decisions. My experiences are discussed in detail in this book and clearly demonstrate that customs often destroy the organization and do great harm to a culture. My experience aptly demonstrated that because of custom, the organization continued to make the same mistakes that put organizations in difficulty and put the future of the operation in peril. These failures of custom are clearly illustrated in union relations. Conversely, successes in culture as outlined in the book solidified the organization and insured it viability and long-term growth.
