My chest tightens, and the sound of my racing heartbeat thunders in my ears. Panic claws at me, and sweat starts to collect in my trembling hands. “You’re crazy,” he chuckles.

I blink twice as I stare into his deep blue eyes. “I’m an artist. I have an excuse to have a little bit of madness,” I reply, voice firm as I cock the gun with a steady hand, “Especially if I’m in a life and death situation.”
