I was initiated into Freemasonry in 1961 and became Grand Master of the Grand Orient of Italy in 1990. I founded the Regular Grand Lodge of Italy in 1993 and was its Grand Master until 2002. In the same year, I founded the Order of the Illuminati and I am still its Grand Master. I have contributed to the clarification of Masonic thought with "Philosophy of Freemasonry" (Marsilio, 1987, 2016) and "The Reconstruction of the Temple: The Masonic Project for a New Utopia" (Marsilio, 1996). In 2021 I published on Amazon (digital and paper) "My life in Freemasonry". Over a period of 35 years, these contributions have remained separate, creating difficulties for their understanding. "Freemasonry: Splendor and Decadence" is the unified and global presentation of what Freemasonry is for me, in thought and life experiences.
