In this story I explore the notion that man can have a special bond with nature that results in various organisms and entities calling earth its home giving a person who takes the time to develop a relationship with them a certain amount of good fortune. I dive into this topic with an example of a young man who does just that and gets rewarded, looked after, and possibly even loved by the forest he frequents during his childhood. He never forgets the connection he has with the spirit of the forest where he grew up and always seems to be protected from harm in the precarious predicaments he finds himself in as an adult. One could say the forces of nature enjoy a person's company and communicates its will to keep the individual safe even on the other side of the globe for no other reason than to be able to spend more time with them in the future. Is it just good luck or do the ancient beings that left their marks on the planet in the past band together for the common good of all and provide warnings, nurturing, nourishment, and approval to maintain their own survival mechanisms and that of the beings they decide to shelter? It's the law of self-preservation in real time.
