Riassunto

Every person has a story, and every story deserves to be told. After the attack on Fort Sumter, President Lincoln asked for volunteers in support of the Union Army. Eleven of the author's uncles, all with ties to Niagara County, New York, answered the call. This book contains a series of short biographies on each of the uncles. It tells the tales of their epic battles, their heroics, and the sacrifices they made for the United States of America. The author has included several letters, all written by Uncle George Whitcher, that were sent home from the battlefield to his sister in Lockport, New York.
