Dr. Timothy Rasinski is a professor emeritus of literary education at Kent State University and was previously director of its award-winning reading clinic. He has also served as co-editor of the Journal of Literacy Research. Dr. Rasinski was elected to the International Reading Hall of Fame and was awarded the International Literacy Association’s highest honor—the William S. Gray Citation of Merit—for his contributions to the field of literacy.

Chase Young, Ph.D., is a professor in the School of Teaching and Learning at Sam Houston State University. He is an editor of Literacy Research and Instruction, previously served as editor of the Texas Journal of Literacy Education, and is founding editor of the Journal of Teacher Action Research. A former elementary school teacher and reading specialist, Dr. Young’s research focuses on developing reading fluency and supporting struggling readers.
