Stinky Butts was written in response to the recent banning of books by our local County Judge. The children's books he banned had the words "Butt" and "Farting" in the titles. Banning books is a slippery slope. After all, who is qualified to determine which books are "bad?" Stinky Butts, meant to be read by parents to their young children under 6, contains helpful hints for managing behavior and encouraging the expression of appropriate emotions. When books are banned for the titles, the message is lost. We should be encouraging children to read.
