A country girl with less than a high school education says I Do at seventeen and never looks back. She became the wife of a traveling salesman that became a minister of the Gospel. Through thick and thin, she was committed to her husband and, sometimes, even more so to her marriage. Over the years, she has written dozens of one-line verses describing what their Life Is together, the history that is theirs, and her life in motherhood and ministry. These expressions could just as easily have been "Love Is..." but there is little evidence that she ever separated what she loved from what she lived, or perhaps the other way around.
Diagnosed with a brain tumor at age 89, Joyce Samples was a bit embarrassed when her son discovered these writings while helping his dad sort through some long-stored memorabilia. Together, mother and son did some minor editing and added a few pages to update the telling of her life. The son then searched through thousands of photos, several of which are included to help illustrate the words and the history of what this Life Is...
