“This work will seek to demonstrate that there are indeed common threads running through a variety of different groups and ideologies covered under the category of Black Identity Extremism (BIE). It will attempt, as much as possible, to understand these ideologies as they are understood by their adherents—not to label these ideologies as extremist but to impart insights that may be of value to law enforcement officers who are called upon to investigate potential criminal acts perpetrated by those actors who do adhere to these belief systems.”
