Numerous technological devices are being developed to extract beneficial data from individual gait patterns. These existing technologies can be used to detect changes in people’s gait patterns, especially in older adults. This information could be used to further support the detection and analysis of parameters related to changes in mobility, cognition, and frailty. This monograph delves into three chapters: Gait Analysis Background, Technologies Available for Gait Analysis, and Pathological Implications of Gait. These chapters aim to provide a framework for gait analysis and its parameters, with insight into the technologies available for monitoring specific parameters at varying levels. To conclude, it provides information on the implications of pathologies that can be discovered through gait analysis.
