In September 1946, it was reported that Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was seen in the North West Frontier Province. Pandit Nehru rushed to the Frontier on his 'fact-finding and goodwill mission' for the tribals. He sent V. K. Krishna Menon on a special and secret mission to meet one of Stalin's closest allies and Soviet Minister of Foreign Affairs, V. M. Molotov.
Next year, surprisingly the former I.N.A. Commanders led a Frontier tribal attack on Kashmir. Pandit Nehru was clueless, fearing a third alternative was evolving. Maharaja Hari Singh had sought help and soon Kashmir acceded to India. Indian Army was then sent to protect Kashmir from the invaders.
Almost forty years after the tribal attack, hand-drawn maps were recovered from the belongings of Bhagwanji at Faizabad. Many people believe the saint was none other than Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. The most thrilling journey starts from the trails of Bhagwanji.
'Open the Way to Kashmir' is a research-based book to explore an unknown history.
