Riassunto

Hilarity ensues when Bumfuzzle and Cattywampus are on the case.

Retirees and best friends, Marge and Joey are investigating mysterious events at Rutherford Mansion.

Is the mansion cursed? Is it haunted? Secret passages, a cryptic journal, and missing paintings lead to murder. The stakes rise with the body count. Will the two friends' antics land them in the hospital, or worse, on the growing list of victims? Only time will tell...

Note from the author:

The Bumfuzzle and Cattywampus; Unlikely Detectives series emerged from a conversation about unusual words. Eccentric seniors, Marge and Joey mirror their surnames, defined by Merriam-Webster.com Dictionary as:

Bumfuzzle: Transitive verb. Chiefly dialectal: Confuse, Perplex, Fluster.

(Marge's round about speech sometimes makes her almost incomprehensible.)

Cattywampus: Adjective, Dialectal: Askew, Awry, Cater-cornered.

(An old war injury has left Joey slightly shorter on one side of his body, causing him to tilt slightly. Although physically fit, he uses a walker to assist him with his balance.)
