So far, sciences students have no systematic introduction available into the structure of data bases and the intelligently structured search for information. The new text book of Selzer, Marhöfer and Rohwer here fills this gap. The book can be thoroughly recommended to students and instructors in the sciences and molecular medicine. It also can be very useful for biocomputering courses being established at a growing number of universities.
