"Your love witnesses more than one thousand sermons."

- Judge Hubert E. Long

It was autumn of 1986 in Columbia, SC, when a heinous crime was executed under cover of darkness on I-26. It left the people of the state outraged and an unsuspecting young family shattered. This personal account and unforgettable testimony of Author Linda T. Stapleton is a powerful and inspiring story of love and forgiveness in the midst of devastation.

In Above the Overpass, Linda shares her struggles to understand why an innocent child, her innocent child, was murdered and shares her life's journey to answer the following questions.

·        If God is love, how could this happen?

·        Where were the angels who supposedly were protecting us?

·        Was this God's judgement on our sins?

·        Would we ever enjoy a normal life again?

·        Why do bad things happen to good people?

·        Why did this happen to us?

Linda writes, "I continued to ask 'why,' which is a question certainly indulged by God, but it is the wrong question to ask of a Sovereign. We might do better to ask God, 'What are You teaching me?' or 'What must I do next?"'
