Paperback. The European Union's growing accountability deficit threatens to undermine its legitimacy. This was acknowledged by the Member States in Nice in February 2001. Recognising the need to improve 'the democratic legitimacy and transparency of the Union and its institutions', they agreed to launch a debate on the Union's future. At Laeken in December 2001, the Member States decided that the debate should be carried forward in a Convention comprising the main partiesinvolved. The debate will start to crystallise in 2004, when negotiations on a new set of Treaty changes will begin.The outcome of those negotiations will profoundly affect theconstitutional and political health of the Union as it confronts enlargement to the east and south and the challenges of the 21st century. However, the Union's accountability and legitimacy deficit is so deep-seated that it is unlikely to be eradicated completely by the changes agreed. The contributors to this interdisciplinary collection of essays consider various aspects of accountability and legitimacyin the European Union. How open should the Union's decision-making be? What is the right balance between accountability and efficiency? Does the Union now need a formal constitution? How can respect fordemocracy, fundamental rights and the rule of law in the Union best be ensured? These are just some of the questions explored in this book. Informazioni sull’autore
Daniel Wincott has undergraduate and Masters degrees from the University of Manchester and a PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He has worked at the Universities of Leicester and Warwick (where he held a Jean Monnet Chair in Law and Politics) before moving to the University of Birmingham in 1995. In 2001 he was a special advisor on European Governance to Neil Kinnock, Vice President of the European Commission. He is an editor of the British Journal of Politics and International Relations. His main research interests concern the European Union (especially the politics of European law) and comparative public policy, and he has published papers in leading journals including The European Law Journal, Government and Opposition, Journal of Common Market Studies, Journal of European Public Policy, Political Studies and Public Administration.

Il periodo di recesso scade dopo 14 giorni dal giorno in cui tu o una terza parte, diversa dal vettore e da te indicata, acquisisce il possesso fisico dell'ultimo bene o dell'ultimo lotto o pezzo.
Per esercitare il diritto di recesso, compila e invia elettronicamente una dichiarazione esplicita sul nostro sito Web, alla voce “I miei acquisti” nella sezione “Mio account”. Ti comunicheremo senza indugio una conferma di ricezione di tale recesso su un supporto durevole (ad es. via e-mail).

Effetti del recesso
In caso di recesso dal presente contratto, ti rimborseremo tutti i pagamenti ricevuti, compresi i costi di spedizione (ad eccezione dei costi supplementari derivanti dalla tua eventuale scelta di un tipo di spedizione diverso dal tipo meno costoso di consegna standard da noi offerto).

Eseguiremo il rimborso senza indebito ritardo e non oltre 14 giorni dal giorno in cui saremo informati della tua decisione di recedere dal presente contratto.
Il rimborso sarà effettuato utilizzando lo stesso mezzo di pagamento da te usato per la transazione iniziale, salvo che tu non abbia espressamente concordato altrimenti; in ogni caso, non dovrai sostenere alcun costo quale conseguenza di tale rimborso.
Possiamo trattenere il rimborso finché non avremo ricevuto i beni oppure finché non avrai fornito la prova di averli rispediti, a seconda di quale condizione si verifichi per prima.
Dovrai rispedire i beni o consegnarli a AussieBookSeller, Truganina, Victoria, Australia, senza indebito ritardo e, in ogni caso, entro 14 giorni dal giorno in cui ci hai comunicato la tua volontà di recedere dal presente contratto. Il termine è rispettato se rispedisci i beni prima della scadenza del periodo di 14 giorni. I costi diretti della restituzione dei beni saranno a tuo carico. Eccezioni al diritto di recesso
Il diritto di recesso non si applica a:
