Paperback. Some love stories begin with a spark. This one began with a leaking pipe.Nora Vasquez and Daniel Cho have been inseparable for eleven years. They share morning coffee, city commutes, long dinners, and the kind of easy silence that only comes from truly knowing someone. Everyone around them sees what they refuse to name.Nora has been in love with Daniel for years. She's chosen, again and again, to say nothing - protecting the friendship that means more to her than anything else in her life. Daniel has made the same choice, for the same reasons. But when Daniel accepts a partnership that will take him across the world, and Nora's own life begins to shift in ways she didn't plan for, the careful silence they've both maintained starts to crack. A late-night phone call from a hospital in Philadelphia. A look on a sidewalk that lasts less than a second. Eleven years of small moments, finally adding up to something neither of them can keep folding away.Something Like Always is a love story about the cost of staying quiet, the weight of being truly known, and what it takes to finally say the thing you've been holding for years. Set against the backdrop of New York City - relentless, indifferent, and occasionally miraculous - it's a novel for anyone who has ever loved someone in the margins and wondered if they'd ever find the courage to write it in full. Some love stories begin with a spark. This one began with a leaking pipe.
Nora Vasquez and Daniel Cho have been inseparable for eleven years. They share morning coffee, city commutes, long dinners, and the kind of easy silence that only comes from truly knowing someone. Everyone around them sees what they refuse to name.
Nora has been in love with Daniel for years. She's chosen, again and again, to say nothing — protecting the friendship that means more to her than anything else in her life.
