This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Second International Joint Conference on Ambient Intelligence, AmI 2011, held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, in November 2011. The 58 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from numerous submissions. The papers cover a wide range of topics such as haptic interfaces, smart sensing, smart environments, novel interaction technologies, affecting human behaviour, privacy and trust, landscape and ambient assisted living.
Informazioni sull?autore: Peter Byrne arbeitet als Journalist und Wissenschaftsautor in Kalifornien, USA. Er schrieb bereits für Scientific American, Physics World, Mother Jones, Salon.com, SF Weekly, North Bay Bohemian und viele weitere Zeitschriften und Wochenzeitungen. Für seine schriftstellerische Arbeit gewann er in den USA nationale Anerkennung . Er ist Mitglied des Foundational Questions Institute, das die Entstehung dieses Buches finanziell gefördert hat. Peter Byrne hielt bereits Vorträge über Everett an den Universitäten von Oxford und Kalifornien, Irvine, sowie am Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics. Zudem war er als Experte wesentlich an der BBC4-Produktion über Everett, Parallel Worlds, Parallel Lives beteiligt (und ist in dieser auch zu sehen). Die National Science Foundation und das American Institute of Physics unterstützten Byrne und Prof. Jeffrey Barrett finanziell bei der Erstellung eines elektronischen Everett-Archivs: http://ucispace.lib.uci.edu/handle/10575/1060. Darüber hinaus veröffentlicht Princeton University Press The Everett Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics: Collected Works 1955-1980, herausgegeben von Byrne und Barrett.
