"An Analytical Study of the Conditioned Knee-Jerk" is a foundational work in the field of experimental psychology and physiological research. Authored by George Richard Wendt, this monograph provides a rigorous scientific examination of the human reflex, specifically focusing on the conditioning of the patellar tendon reflex. Through detailed methodology and meticulous observation, Wendt explores the mechanisms of stimulus and response, contributing significantly to the behavioral theories prevalent in the early twentieth century.

The study investigates the factors influencing the magnitude and latency of the knee-jerk, offering insights into the neural pathways and the plastic nature of human reflexes. As a classic example of laboratory research, the work bridges the gap between biological physiology and psychological conditioning. Scholars and students of the history of psychology will find this work invaluable for its systematic approach to measuring involuntary responses and its implications for understanding human behavior. "An Analytical Study of the Conditioned Knee-Jerk" stands as a testament to the precision of early experimental psychology and remains a key reference for those interested in the evolution of reflex studies and behavioral science.
