This new volume explores a plethora of blockchain-based solutions for big data and IoT applications, looking at advances in real-world applications in several sectors, including higher education, cybersecurity, agriculture, business and management, healthcare and biomedical science, construction and project management, smart city development, and others. Chapters explore emerging technology to combat the ever-increasing threat of security to computer systems and offer new architectural solutions for problems encountered in data management and security. The chapters help to provide a high level of understanding of various blockchain algorithms along with the necessary tools and techniques. The novel architectural solutions in the deployment of blockchain presented here are the core of the book.
Arun Solanki, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Gautam Buddha University, India, where he has held many roles over the years. He is the Co-Convener of the Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence. He has published many research articles in international journals, has been a technical and advisory committee member of many conferences, and has chaired and organized many sessions at international conferences, workshops, and seminars. Dr. Solanki is working as Associate Editor for the International Journal of Web-Based Learning and Teaching Technologies (IJWLTT). He has also been working as a guest editor for special issues in Recent Patents on Computer Science. Dr. Solanki is the editor of many books and is working as the reviewer and guest editor for several journals.
Vishal Jain, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Engineering and Technology, Sharda University, India. Before that, he worked for several years as an Associate Professor at Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Institute of Computer Applications and Management. He has more than 14 years of experience in academics and has authored more than 70 research papers in professional journals and conferences. He has authored and edited more than 10 books with various reputed publishers. His research areas include information retrieval, semantic web, ontology engineering, data mining, ad hoc networks, and sensor networks.
Loveleen Gaur, PhD, is Professor and Program Director (Artificial Intelligence and Business Intelligence and Data Analytics) at Amity International Business School, Amity University, India. She is also a senior IEEE member and series editor. An established author and researcher, she has filed three patents in IoT. Prof. Gaur has participated in over 300 scientific conferences, symposia, and seminars, chairing technical sessions and delivering plenary and invited talks. She has authored and co-authored around 10 books and is invited as a guest editor for Springer NASA journals and Emerald Q1 journals. She is actively involved in various projects of the Government of India and abroad. She has been honored with prestigious national and international awards.
