Arrested Development and Personality Disorders: Understanding the Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde Dual Personality

Arrested Development & Personality Disorders is designed to provide the reader an understanding of the Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde Dual-personality; the common origin of this & other mood & personality disorders -- disruptions in the Human Life-Span Development; Failure to Traverse Developmental Stages; & the Failure to Complete Rites of Passage from one stage of development to the next. Understanding these factors enables those suffering from these disorders, & those they are married to, those they live with & work with -- who exhibit the manifestations of Arrested Development -- to Break their Bondage, thereby restoring their personhood wholeness & their relationships. To accomplish these goals, this book incorporates an introduction to the human life-span and its development; an introduction to human attachment bonding, developmental tasks, rites of passage, and the origins and manifestations of developmental wounds. In twelve information-packed chapters, authors James V. and Paula M. Potter, introduce the reader to the development of temperament, character and personality, as well as the development of pseudo, dual and chameleonic personalities. Following this introduction, in the next four chapters, the authors reveal, what they contend, are the principle causes underlying the majority of emotional and developmental wounds, which if left unresolved and allowed to mature, become life-controlling problems -- problems such as mood and personality disorders, addictions, codependency and obsessive-compulsive disorders. Subsequent chapters are designed to help the reader gain new insight into their own epistemology -- their personal life-experience, and with this improved insight to develop a sound personal ontology -- or meaningful self-identity, which holds the key to the level of one's self-worth. These chapters also introduce the ever-changing nature of human bonding, which becomes redirected as one matures; and damages to this bonding that can manifest themselves when developmental tasks or rites of passage were not completed. Seven detailed charts help the reader grasp the significance of the impact on a person's life when developmental tasks were not completed, rites of passage were not successfully navigated, and bonding patterns impaired. The authors demonstrate is succinct fashion the development of disorders such as: Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD); Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD); Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), Mood disorders such as Depression and Mania; Tricophillia and Tricophagia; and a collage of Personality Disorders. In addition to revealing the origins and manifestations of developmental wounds, the authors provide the keys for identifying one's own hidden emotional wounds that may hold the key to freedom from long-standing, life-controlling problems; keys for determining the approximate age when these wounds occurred and how they may have been inflicted; and keys for examining their effects on our thought life, our beliefs, attitudes, emotions, values and behavior patterns. The authors then provide the reader an introduction into the function of man's magnificent mind, as well as the interactions between the conscious, the subconscious and the superconscious. Following this, they provide the reader a very powerful tool, that when used correctly, can help one break virtually any bondage, freeing one from their obsessive-compulsive behavior patterns, their addictions, their codependency, or other life-controlling problem. Understanding the Jekyll/Hyde and other Personality Disorders; and the keys to breaking free from bondage and restoring wholeness, helps those seeking answers to long-standing problems. It provides answers to those nagging questions concerning our true identity, self-image or inner-being; giving the reader the tools he/she needs to restore their wounded personhood, heal wounded relationships; laying the groundwork for marital intimacy and oneness.
