Riassunto
This volume offers advice on adding a professional touch to the way treasured objects are displayed around the home. The approach relates to any category of object, whether single pieces or groups, from family photographs and decorative glass vases to large sculptural pieces or collections of shells. Many types of places to display are explored, whether horizontal or vertical planes, hidden spaces, mantelpieces, plinths, shelves or bookcases. It also looks at window sills, tables, bespoke cabinets, walls and floors. The final section offers a range of practical guidelines on the techniques behind display such as mounting pictures, putting up shelves, hanging textiles and conservation and cleaning.
