Neuware - 'Australia and Back' is a thrilling firsthand account of Sir Alan Cobham's historic long-distance flight from London to Australia and back in 1926. This work captures a pivotal moment in the Golden Age of Aviation, documenting the monumental challenges and triumphs of navigating a de Havilland floatplane across thousands of miles of uncharted air routes.Cobham provides readers with vivid descriptions of the landscapes encountered along the journey, spanning the Mediterranean, the Middle East, India, and the Malay Peninsula, before reaching the Australian continent. Beyond the technical aspects of early flight, the narrative reflects the spirit of adventure and the pioneering drive to establish global aerial connections. The book serves as both a detailed log of a record-breaking journey and a testament to the skill and endurance required by early aviators.'Australia and Back' remains an essential piece of aviation literature, illustrating the transition of the airplane from an experimental machine to a transformative tool for global travel and exploration. This account is a must-read for those interested in the history of flight, British exploration, and the evolution of international travel in the early twentieth century. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
