Bach was no snob, but a hard-working guy who sold music. This little book is an audio visual guide for people who would like to hear more music written by Bach, but have no idea where to begin. I know how it feels. That is why I wrote a completely different book from all other books about Bach. What I am trying to do here, is to show you that Bach’s music is “just” music, and the people who listen to that music and make that music are mostly ordinary people, like you and me. You don’t need special knowledge, musical training, an extensive education or a high IQ to enjoy Bach. Just a pair of ears and a little bit of an open mind. You will not find music theory or many explanations in this book. In fact, the only thing I do is give you a little background so you can enjoy the many videos. Because this book is packed with links to YouTube. There is a link to a music video with everything I talk about, so you can hear and see for yourself. With thousands and thousands of videos of performers of any level, any country, any age on YouTube, we can enjoy all their performances. I made it easy for you to click on them, no matter if you read this book on paper, on an E-reader, or a tablet or laptop. If you are reading this on paper or on an E-reader where you cannot click on the links or play music, you can use the QR codes.If you enjoy this book the way I intended, it can keep you entertained for at least a week. There is not much text, but lots of music to listen to, and all kinds of interesting videos on the side. I hope you will take the time to listen to them and watch them. If you do, you have done yourself one of the biggest favours anyone can do themselves: you have given yourself a ticket and a pair of ears to all the music of Bach, the most magical composer we have ever had.
