When you hear a phrase like “Shine your light!” What do you think of?

Does it inspire you to put something good into the world, to lead, or to love outwardly? Or does it stir feelings like frustration, disappointment or regret - you know you have a light, but for whatever reason it’s just so hard to shine these days.

In Be the Beacon, 19 female leaders come together to create a roadmap for you to find and shine that light that is so uniquely yours, and that the world so desperately needs. They’ll share their stories of struggle, growth, and triumph. In addition, they’ll lay out the steps they use to find their light and let it shine oh so bright.

Broken into four sections you will learn to find your way through the following phases:

Spark (Discovering Our Light)

In this section, you will learn the value of becoming grounded and finding your joy. Tapping into your own internal strengths, and learning to love yourself has to come first, even though it can feel like the hardest part. When you step out into the world with confidence and self-love, beauty and impact on the world will follow.

Flame/Alchemy/ Bonfire (Healing through Fire)

The world needs your healing, but it needs you to be strong too. It’s true that you can’t pour from an empty cup, but that goes beyond self care and a good night’s sleep! In this section, explore concepts of healthy boundaries and development of inner strengths that will equip you to be all you want to be for others. You’ll explore cultivating self-compassion, surrendering to unknowns, and re-imagining and re-defining who you want to be, no matter your past.

Hearth (Lighting Our Way Home)

Life has a way of taking us where we’re meant to be, even if the path seems unclear at times. Times of uncertainty and feelings of being lost are both temporary and normal, perhaps even necessary. Sometimes it takes finding your own inner strength to guide you home. Sometimes it is leaning on family and returning to your roots, even if your way of expressing your heritage looks a little different from how you grew up. And sometimes it is finding a completely new place that calls out to your soul, and re-locating entirely. Wherever you land and call home, this section helps light the way there.

Beacon (Lighting the Path)

So what does it mean to truly be a beacon for others? In some ways, it can feel like a daunting task. The key to lighting the way is to walk in authenticity, “walking the talk” in ways that let others see you light, so that they may be empowered to light their own. In this section, you will explore how remaining steadfast (even when it’s hard!) and true to yourself is the foundation for lighting the way for others. You’ll explore the balance between being courageous and being vulnerable. Finally, you’ll come to the end of this section, and this book, ready to truly be a beacon for others.
