Attardi, buonaventu'ra, was a native of the Sicilian town of San Filippo d'agira. He became an Augustine monk, and lectured on ecclesiastical history in the Univer sityof Catania,andwas a ted, in 1738, tobe Provincial ofhis o er in Sicil and Malta. The following works of Atta iare enumerated by Manuchelli - 1. Bilancia della Verith, &c. Palermo, 1738, a; a po lemical treatise in a controversy then gorng on as to the lace of Saint Paul 8 shipwreck. Whicha maintained to have been the island of Malta. 2. Lettera Scrittaadun Amico, 8m. Palermo, 1738, 4mm; in which the author undertakes to prove that Saint Philip of Agira, sent by Saint Peter, was the first plreacher of Christianity in Sicily. 3.
