Larned 1149: "A well-balanced sketch, treating briefly of Oglethorpe in England and largely of his colonial experiences. There is a chapter on the Wesleys in Georgia and the literary friends of Oglethorpe. This is the best biography of the subject." Bookplate on front pastedown modeled after the frontispiece portrait of Oglethorpe, persistent moderate foxing, else very good. 20th-century green cloth, gilt spine title, marbled endpapers. (9222).
