This manual for clinicians describes an approach to the treatment of bipolar disorder which adapts and uses techniques from cognitive therapy. The authors contend that while the disorder has a strong biological component which is properly treated through drug therapy, patients may also benefit from stress reduction strategies learned in cognitive therapy.
