Paperback. "Birds of the Pacific Coast Including a Brief Account of Thedistribution and Habit of One Hundred and Eighteen Birds" is a comprehensive guide dedicated to the diverse avian life found along the western shores of North America. Authored by Willard Ayres Eliot, this work provides detailed observations on more than one hundred species, offering readers an intimate look at the distribution, nesting habits, and physical characteristics of the birds that inhabit this unique geographical corridor. The text serves as both a scientific resource and a practical handbook for nature enthusiasts. Each entry focuses on the specific traits and environmental preferences of the subjects, ranging from common coastal dwellers to more elusive inland species. By documenting the behavior and habitats of these birds, Eliot captures the ecological richness of the Pacific region during the early twentieth century. With its focus on clear, accessible descriptions and reliable ornithological data, "Birds of the Pacific Coast" remains a valuable reference for those interested in the natural history of the American West.
