The Book They Never Wanted You to Read

You didn't become who you are.
You were assembled.

Do you ever feel like the life you're living doesn't quite fit?

Like no matter what you achieve, something underneath it all still feels hollow?

Like the person everyone sees isn't really you?

That feeling is not a flaw.
It's a clue.

Your name was assigned before you could evaluate it.

Your beliefs were installed before you could question them.

Your desires were optimized for someone else's purposes before you knew you had purposes.

And none of it was an accident.

You Were Never Real is not a self-help book. It is not a spiritual guide. It is the documented investigation of how the person you call "yourself" was built into you, before you could consent to the building, before you could examine what was being built, and before you had the awareness to tell the difference between the installation and your own nature.

Twenty-one academic disciplines pointed to the same conclusion.

From twenty-one different directions.

The conclusion was the same.

Inside the Vault:

• The Critical Period. The neural rewiring that finished before you could object to it. Why your perception was locked in before you had words for what was happening.
• Epigenetic Inheritance. The marks your ancestors' fear left in the cells you grew from. Why your nervous system carries memories of events that happened before you existed.
• The Linguistic Cage. Why your most private thoughts use vocabulary you didn't choose. The structure of your thinking, installed before you knew what language was.
• The Family System's Installation. The template you mistook for your nature. How families deliver an entire identity that feels like fate.
• Trauma's Optimization Function. Why the wounding was specific. Why the wounds shaped you toward exactly the behavior the system needed.
• The Inner Narrator's Warden Function. The voice in your head you trust the most. Why it speaks in your voice. Why it was installed to keep you from looking at the installation.
• The Spiritual Bypass. Why the spiritual practices you adopted to escape the cage are running inside the cage. How "awakening" can become the most refined version of the prison.
• What Was Always There. Beneath every layer of the installation, prior to every component of the self that was built into you, there is an awareness that was never installed and cannot be installed. This is the documentation of how to find it.

Drawn from twenty-one disciplines, including: developmental neuroscience. Epigenetics. Cognitive linguistics. Family systems theory. Trauma research. Legal philosophy. Comparative mysticism. Attachment theory. Somatic psychology. Behavioral economics. Contemplative neuroscience. Bioelectromagnetics. Clinical psychiatry. African philosophy.

Twenty-one professional lives that followed the evidence to where the evidence went.

The evidence went to the same place from every direction.

You will not find hope in these pages in the sense of the carrot they dangle to keep you walking the treadmill.

You will find something more durable than hope.

You will find the awareness that was there before any of it was installed.

The wave breaks.
The water remains.
The water was always more real than the wave.

Book 6 of The Black Vault Series.

The series began with the wall around the world.

It continues with the wall around the self.

Twenty volumes are planned. Six are released. The vault keeps opening.

You were never only the wave.

Now you are going to find out what the water is.
