Want to change the world? The Book of Rad is the place to start. Radicalis is a Latin word meaning "of or having roots." The Book of Rad invites us to observe and focus on how we can contribute to society right out our own front door. Neighbor to neighbor. Block by block. Written by 75 contributing community catalysts from across the U.S. who have grown their passionate ideas and creative solutions from the ground up. The book provides a colorful compilation of projects which increase human connections. The stories act as testimonials and a call to action for us to roll up our sleeves and act locally instead of globally. These unique and creative projects welcome us to consider how change happens and asks the vital and timely question: What can we do to transform our own neighborhood into a healthy, vibrant and interconnected place?

The intro of the book helps to identify the underlying root cause of the disconnection and isolation felt in our consumption-based society. The bulk of the book is made up of illustrated contributions which cover solutions, personal accounts and advice for transforming our neighborhoods into nourishing places. The closing provides a personalized "How to" guide to help the reader embark on a project or solution which will enhance their neighborhood.
